If you know me you know I am obsessed with candles. I have a stash in my closet and one set in every room. However even with the 2 for 20 sales at Bath & Body works they can get a little pricy sometimes. So recently I have been mixing up my candle burning with a stovetop simmer.
What is a stove top simmer? It may be a little self-explanatory but essentially it is a stove top potpourri made out of fresh or dried ingredients you have in your house. So today I am here to share with you two different ones I have been loving. And because I am obsessed with citrus, you can guess they both feature a little bit of that.
First up is the Lemon and Rosemary Stovetop Simmer. All this entails is a couple sliced up lemons and a couple sprigs of rosemary in a pot of water. Lightly simmer the pot and wait for your house to fill up with the fresh smells of lemon. I love this one on a Sunday morning because it makes my whole kitchen smell fresh and clean.
My second favorite consists orange peels, cinnamon, and a couple drops of vanilla extract. The mixture of orange and vanilla is one of my favorite scents, and the cinnamon adds a warm tone perfect for a Friday evening at home.
Do you have any stovetop simmer combinations that you love? Share them in the comments, I would love to try some new ones! Maybe a floral simmer for the spring? I might just have to try that and report back.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
