Happy 2018 everyone! I hope you all had an amazing holiday season and a very happy New Year. January is officially upon us and as cliché as it is, it is the perfect opportunity to set new goals and habits for the upcoming year.
Before we get into that I want to quickly reflect on 2017 and all of the memories that were made. 2017 was a crazy year that was filled with so many exciting life events that I got to share in with my family and friends.
One of my best friends Doug got married in Orlando Florida. All of us live so far from each other so it was amazing to have the gang back together again. While down there, my boyfriend and I also spent a couple days in Disney and it was so fun being able to experience some of my favorite rides with him.
Another one of my favorite people in the world Krista got married this summer as well and had the most beautiful backyard wedding you could ever imagine. Every element of the day was so perfectly her and I am so happy I got to be a part of it.
Another one of my best friends Nicole got engaged this year and it was so much fun planning her bachelorette party and all of the festivities that went along with it. I was so honored to be able to be with her the morning of her wedding and get ready for the amazing day ahead. Definitely one of my favorite memories of the year.
My cousin Victoria had the most beautiful twins, and we are all so excited! They already have so much personality. Towards the end of the year we also found out that my cousin Ali is pregnant with a baby boy. I am so happy to have them here in Rhode Island and I cannot wait to meet him this spring!
My sister graduated from high school and moved up to Rhode Island to attend school. I am so excited to have her up here for the next four years!
As for me, I really re hauled my diet (for the majority of the year!) and got back into working out and lost a total of 18lbs. I also won Manager of the Quarter at work this year which was definitely exciting. I also starting working on some really cool projects which you will learn more about in the coming months.
2017 was definitely a whirlwind of a year. I am definitely looking forward to 2018 and focusing more on myself. With that, I have come up with a couple of goals for the New Year.
The main goal or theme of 2018 for me is Balance. And so many of my goals reflect this theme.
Personal Goals
Physical – Commit to working out five days a week, whether that be at the gym or at home.
Mental Health – Meditate Daily & Breathing Exercises. Set intentions for the day.
Nutrition – Increase water consumption. Eat out less and cook healthy meals at home more.
Financial – Consolidate loans and start building a substantial savings account
Business Goals
My Nine Lives – In 2018 I plan on doing a complete overhaul of this blog. I am dedicated to creating thoughtful content that you will want to keep coming back to read. With that being said, I will be taking a two month break from blogging to really plan out the posts for the upcoming year. I do not want to be stuck in a rut where I just post something just to post it. I want to create amazing content for my readers and have a clear vision of what My Nine Lives is all about. So I will be coming back in March bigger and better than ever with some really exciting content that I know you are going to love!
My Business – For the past couple of months I have been writing out a Business Plan for something really exciting coming in spring of 2018. I will share more details about it in March. I am extremely excited to share this new venture with you!
I have a feeling that 2018 is going to be a great year, but it is also important to not put pressure on yourself to have the “best year ever”. Things will happen. You might not achieve all your goals. And that is okay. There is no #newyearnewme. Always strive to do better and be better, but also remember to sit back and be proud of who and where you are now. Then you will truly have a happy New Year.
Even though I won’t be blogging for the next two months be sure to follow me on Instagram and on the My Nine Lives Facebook page to keep updated on my life and the exciting things coming your way!
I will see you all soon!
Xx Casey
