Happy first day of Spring everyone! It might not feel like it just yet, but this is the first step to warmer weather. But one thing it does feel like today is a Monday. So to kick off the beginning of the week I am sharing my awesome 1 hour cardio workout playlist here on the blog. If these songs don’t get your ass in gear I don’t know what will.

Playlist: Most Played Songs of 2016

Hi Friends! As 2016 is coming to a close I wanted to share one last Spotify Playlist with you to end the year with a bang. Spotify was kind enough to create a playlist with our top songs of the year and today I am going to share mine with you! I think that this is a great insight as to how someone’s year went, don’t you? Here are the top 10 – you can follow the rest of my playlist here: Most Played Songs of 2016

Safe & Sound – Matthew Mayfield

It’s Alright – Fractures

Green Mountain State – Trevor Hall

California Kids – Weezer

7 Years – Lukas Graham

Tennessee Whiskey – Chris Stapleton

Courtesy Of The Red, White, And Blue – Toby Keith

Portland, Maine – Conovan Woods

Vienna – Billy Joel

Wind In Our Sail – Weezer

Clearly I was into a lot of folk, bluesy country, and alt rock in the year 2016. There are a total of four songs about whiskey, five Weezer songs, and even a little Kanye West. This playlist is kind of a mess the further down the list you go, but that pretty much sums up 2016 doesn’t it?

Hope you all have a wonderful New Year. I’ll see ya in 2017

Lifelong Playlist

Someone’s favorite songs can say a lot about them. It gives you an insight into what kind of personality they are. Are you high energy? Mellow? Melancholy? Angry? Your music of choice says it all. So since this is a new site I thought I would share a little bit more about myself through music. I have music playing constantly in the car, in my office, in my apartment… If there isn’t music playing I am not happy. I am the girl that is constantly shazaming in bathrooms, during tv shows, in bars.. it might be embarrassing to say but i have found some of my favorite songs in bathrooms.

Anyway, I digress.. here is my list of top five favorite songs in order

1 Vienna – Billy Joel

“But then if you’re so smart tell me, why are you still so afraid?”

2 Take It Easy – The Eagles

“We may lose and we may win, though we will never be here again”

3 Landslide – Fleetwood Mac

“Can I sail through the changing ocean tides? Can I handle the seasons of my life?”

4 When I Come Around – Green Day

“You can’t go forcing something if it’s just not right”

5 Tiny Dancer – Elton John

“Ballerina, you must have seen her dancing in the sand”

Band Spotlight: The Griswolds

The Griswolds are a four piece indie rock band from Sydney Australia and has been playing together since they wrote their first song at a House Party in 2012. And yes, they are named after the family from Vacation so it doesn’t get much cooler than that. Since then the band has release multiple EP’s and their first full length album “Be Impressive”. And impressive these guys are. Not only are they talented, but they are a group of genuinely nice guys who are all about connecting with fans. And that is exactly what they are doing.

Currently the band is traveling across the country playing impromptu acoustic shows at local bars, and then hanging back with a beer meeting music lovers and fans alike. I was able to spend a little time with the lead singer and the drummer and they were as personable and appreciative as can be. I thanked them with a cheers, and in that moment I knew I was experiencing something special. I know these guys are going to go far, but it’s their passion and genuine love for what they are doing that will keep them going.

They just released their newest single “Out of My Head”. Go ahead and try to listen to it just once. I have been unsuccessful as it has been on repeat all morning – and that’s how you know you have something great on your hands.
